About the position
The Industrial Maintenance Technician at IPEX Group of Companies is responsible for the maintenance and repair of machinery and facilities in the Fabrication plant located in Chesterfield, MI. This role focuses on enhancing safety, product quality, production output, and cost control to meet plant goals. The technician will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to ensure efficient operations and compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan and layout work assignments from complex blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair.
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair plant machinery, tooling, molds, equipment, systems, buildings, and physical structures.
- Use tools and operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders for maintenance and set-up of company property.
- Familiarize with national, provincial, and local codes affecting repair and maintenance, safety, and construction.
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Collaborate with other employees during emergencies and plant shutdowns to restore equipment functionality.
- Complete maintenance request forms accurately and timely.
- Maintain inventory levels and direct purchases of new tools and machinery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Completion of high school education or equivalent.
- 3+ years verifiable electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, piping, and/or welding experience.
- Electrical experience is an asset.
