About the position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in a food manufacturing facility by performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility support equipment. This position requires troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery and systems to ensure optimal operation and safety within the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, disassemble and troubleshoot complex processes, high speed packaging machinery, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities on production, processing and plant equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, process and instrumentation diagrams, flow diagrams, and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify components, and verify proper equipment operation.
  • Monitor metrics for system performance issues.
  • Assist in plant projects, upgrades, and calibrations.
  • Provide solutions to issues or opportunities that contribute to the operation in the areas of Quality, Safety and Productivity.
  • Complete work orders associated with assigned equipment.
  • Install new equipment as necessary.
  • Modify and upgrade manufacturing equipment as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience as a mechanic in an industrial plant or manufacturing facility desired.
  • Two year Technical Degree in Maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance a plus.
  • Troubleshooting experience and repair knowledge of electrical controls, circuits, and systems.
  • Troubleshooting skills and repair techniques of mechanical and pneumatic components and systems.
  • Experience operating high pressure steam boilers, HVAC experience and/or knowledge of pumps / motors.
  • PLC programming functions and troubleshooting a plus.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints or other forms of engineering drawings.
  • Ability to utilize power & hand tools properly and safely support work activities.
