About the position
The Industrial Maintenance Technician at Almatis Inc. is responsible for repairing and diagnosing mechanical failures while performing preventive maintenance in an industrial manufacturing facility. The role emphasizes safety and equipment reliability to minimize production downtime, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Performing preventative maintenance, part replacements, and equipment improvements within a team and individually
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues and breakdowns
- Communicating between maintenance and production
- Documenting work orders
- Understanding and following environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Coordinating with production and other department teams to solve problems
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge with 1-3 years of experience (preferred)
- Experience with various bulk material handling equipment
- Knowledge of bearings, belt tracking, V belts, gearboxes, motors, conveyor rollers, and alignment of shafts, sprockets, and sheaves
- Experience with lifting and rigging
- Welding skills
- Mobile equipment experience: Manlift, Forklift, Crane (preferred)
- Understanding of pneumatics and grease lubrication systems
- Basic electrical understanding
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC)
- Knowledge of control systems: Lock Out Tag Out, Safety Interlocks, PLC Control
