About the position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician role at Silver-Line Plastics LLC involves maintaining and repairing mechanical systems used in the production of PVC pipes. This position is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery within the facility, focusing on preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot problem manufacturing equipment as assigned by manager/supervisor (industrial motors, machines, conveyors, etc.)
• Perform necessary repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance to keep facilities & extrusion production lines operating.
• Ensure all extrusion equipment is properly maintained, lubricated, and filters replaced.
• Ensure mechanical operations, standards, and controls are maintained at high quality.
• Perform essential changeovers and startups as scheduled.
• Proactively inform management if equipment is unsafe to operate, needs repair, or requires replacement.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or certificate of completion is preferred; technical school is an asset.
• Mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery and electrical troubleshooting skills are required.
• Welding experience is considered an asset.
• Experience working on extrusion machines and/or equipment is strongly preferred.
• Must be eager to learn, self-motivated to work independently, and have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must provide own safety boots and preferably own basic hand tools.
• Available to work 12-hour continental shifts, with an average of 42 hours per week.
• Successful completion of a drug screen, criminal background check, and physical is required.
