About the position

The Calibration Technician will perform calibration duties, testing, and repairs of various electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic instruments under general supervision. This role ensures that equipment functions align with company standards and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall quality and compliance of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate complex electrical/electronic precision measuring and testing equipment.
  • Inspect critical mechanical components for proper function.
  • Assist in the creation of new calibration procedures.
  • Support equipment validation and failure analysis processes.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records in compliance with FDA and company policies.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors for technical support and parts procurement.
  • Utilize computerized equipment and software for testing and calibration.
  • Ensure calibration standards are certified and up to date.
  • Generate memos and technical reports as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies, including safety protocols, and operate in accordance with the company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.
  • Perform tasks supporting the company's values: Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance, and Passion.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical school education in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of calibration work experience, preferably within the food, drug, or cosmetic industry, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Familiarity with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and FDA regulations.
  • Knowledge of metrology principles, electronics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to perform statistical and mathematical computations relevant to calibration.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of various instruments (e.g., temperature, pressure, dimensional).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in English language usage, spelling, and grammar.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
