About the position
The Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer Intern position at Air Vent Inc. is designed for students pursuing a degree in engineering, particularly in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical disciplines. The intern will be responsible for reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) sheets for production lines, participating in training and rollout of safety documents, and gaining hands-on experience in various manufacturing processes. This role offers valuable exposure to operations management, industrial safety, and quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) sheets for production lines.
- Participate in the posting, training, and rollout of safety and training documents to employees.
- Document manufacturing processes by spending time on the factory floor, taking photos, and updating documents as necessary.
- Gain hands-on experience in various manufacturing processes such as metal/aluminum stamping, progressive stamping, riveting, swedging, packaging, and general assembly.
Requirements
- Junior or Senior in pursuit of a bachelor's degree, preferably in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
- Experience or familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with traditional Industrial Engineering skills.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts.
- Exposure or experience in a manufacturing environment.
