About the position
The Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer Intern position at Gibraltar Industries is a summer internship focused on reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) sheets for production lines. The intern will gain hands-on experience in various manufacturing processes and will be responsible for documenting steps, taking photos, and creating new documents for over 20 production lines. This role is ideal for individuals interested in operations management, industrial safety, or quality.
Responsibilities
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) sheets for production lines.
- Participate in the posting, training, and rollout of safety and training documents to employees.
- Document steps and take photos of manufacturing processes on the factory floor.
- Create and update documents as necessary for production lines and WIP presses.
Requirements
- Junior or Senior in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience or familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with traditional Industrial Engineering skills.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts.
- Exposure or experience in a manufacturing environment.
