About the position

The Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer at DeZURIK, Inc. is responsible for providing engineering support to enhance product design, improve processes, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of customer orders. This role involves optimizing plant layouts, developing manufacturing processes, and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations while supporting various departments within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide industrial engineering support to product design and improvement.
  • Facilitate on-time delivery of customer orders by generating and revising part routings.
  • Optimize plant equipment layout for efficiency.
  • Assist in the preparation and facilitation of safety programs and environmental compliance procedures.
  • Create customized routings for highly engineered parts to meet customer specifications.
  • Develop and maintain standard routings and processes for quality production.
  • Produce and maintain documentation to control processes and costs.
  • Develop work instructions for various manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in resolving manufacturing process problems with supervisors and production employees.
  • Review and facilitate equipment relocation and assembly process flow.
  • Support accounting, sales, and suppliers in developing manufacturing systems.
  • Assist in ongoing building and grounds maintenance activities.
  • Justify new or replacement tooling, machines, and equipment.
  • Prepare capital authorization requests and manage installation and start-up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years of progressive experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the manufacture and application of elastomer compounds such as NBR and EPDM.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and implement process improvements in rubber transfer molding and hand application of rubber.
  • Proficiency in the application of fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) powder coat paint.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications for creating automated spreadsheets.
  • Significant knowledge of ERP systems to understand engineering process flow.
