About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer at Klein Tools plays a crucial role in providing engineering support for manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling. This position is primarily hands-on, requiring the engineer to troubleshoot machine issues directly on the shop floor while also leading engineering projects that involve multiple departments. The role emphasizes improving process capability, reliability, and throughput in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations including forging cells, mechanical presses, tooling, robots, CNC machines, and PLC/logic troubleshooting.
• Provide leadership, direction, technical support, training, and assistance to manufacturing staff members.
• Analyze manufacturing difficulties to determine root causes and define corrective actions.
• Provide engineering support in the design, documentation, and implementation of manufacturing processes to improve capability and reliability.
• Document manufacturing processes and setups, including current and new processes.
• Produce accurate engineering drawings using CAD or alternate methods as directed.
• Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and basic programming ability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to develop effective cross-functional relationships.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in forging and/or stamping is a plus.
