About the position

C&W Services is the industry leader in cutting-edge maintenance and janitorial programs for facilities ranging from corporate office portfolios and manufacturing plants to large public venues. The Industrial Mechanical Technician position is crucial for ensuring that our client's facilities run smoothly at all times. This role is based in Wahpeton, ND, and offers a competitive salary of up to $36 per hour, depending on experience. The working hours are from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. Additionally, there are sign-on and relocation bonuses available for eligible candidates. As an Industrial Mechanical Technician, you will be expected to work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to the company's safety guidelines and procedures. Your daily tasks will include performing repairs and preventive maintenance on various equipment such as pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, and power transmissions. You will be responsible for completing tasks with varying levels of supervision, depending on your experience and development. The role requires a strong understanding of using hand and power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, and blueprint reading. You will also assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and provide feedback on service delivery discrepancies. The position demands the ability to operate heavy industrial equipment and perform tasks from elevated areas while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You will maintain positive relations with customers and team members while achieving performance expectations set forth in your appraisals. This position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate tools and equipment safely, and communicate effectively with team members. The work environment may expose you to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, and extreme temperatures, necessitating adherence to safety protocols at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, and power transmissions.
  • Complete assigned tasks with varying levels of supervision, from direct supervision to independent work.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures.
  • Provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Use hand tools and power tools daily, including grinders, saws, impact wrenches, and hydraulic pullers.
  • Perform welding and cutting tasks as required.
  • Operate heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts and skid loaders safely.
  • Work from elevated areas using fall protection equipment as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain personal tools and provide an up-to-date documented personal tool list.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or 4+ years of education in industrial maintenance technologies/engineering preferred.
  • Working knowledge of hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, and blueprint reading.
  • Ability to perform substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) and move for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.

Nice-to-haves
