Industrial Painter/Blaster

About the position

The Industrial Painter/Blaster position at Genesis Industrial Staffing Inc. involves performing surface preparation and painting on various substrates, ensuring high-quality finishes while adhering to safety standards. The role requires the use of specialized equipment and techniques to prepare and coat surfaces effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation on ferrous and non-ferrous substrates using hand tools, power tools, high-pressure washing, and abrasive blasting equipment.
• Paint surfaces of vessels' interior and exterior, components, and equipment using brushes, rollers, airless spray, and conventional spray.
• Properly mix marine and/or protective coatings according to the paint manufacturers' recommendations.
• Assist in loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and paint.
• Operate and maintain paint equipment such as airless spray pots, conventional spray pots, and spray guns.
• Operate and maintain abrasive blasting equipment such as blast pots, blast hoses, hood air manifolds, and air compressors.
• Mask components and equipment to protect them from damage during blast and paint operations.
• Perform work in the safest and most timely manner, correcting any unsafe conditions and reporting them to the supervisor.
• Keep the job site clean and dispose of waste paint materials properly.

Requirements

• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of construction painting techniques.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Familiarity with hand tools and mechanical knowledge.
