About the position

The Industrial Painter/Sandblaster role involves preparing and applying paint and primer to various equipment while ensuring high-quality standards are met. The position requires working in a fast-paced environment, utilizing equipment such as forklifts, and adhering to safety protocols. The role is essential for maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of products through effective painting and sandblasting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Load equipment onto racks for paint using a forklift
• Wash down equipment before painting/sandblasting
• Mask off areas not to be painted
• Read and understand customer paint/sandblast requirements
• Apply primer and paint using spray guns in a high-quality manner to meet specifications
• Move equipment on paint racks using a forklift
• Unmask painted equipment
• Apply tags per engineering requirements
• Keep paint booth filters clean
• Maintain clean and orderly work area
• Communicate problems to supervisor when they arise
• Wear all required PPE
• Work as a team player with others in a demanding fast-paced environment to meet frequently changing production
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• 3+ years of spray painting/sandblasting experience
• Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear a respirator for extended lengths of time
• Must have knowledge on how to set up paint guns
• Be able to mix paint and primer to required specifications
• Basic computer skills for time entry and document lookup
• Strong attention to detail
