About the position

The Industrial Process Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in the quality and process control department of a leading manufacturing company. This position involves supporting production leads and supervisors by collecting and analyzing manufacturing data, ensuring compliance with standards, and improving product quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude, contributing to a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Data collecting, following up on new changes, and tracking test results.
  • Collect manufacturing data for daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Perform data entry by querying data from the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and maintaining Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts for various processes.
  • Prepare and control process documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), Out of Control Action Plans (OCAP), and One Point Lessons (OPL).
  • Conduct tests on jigs and machines, including temperature profiling, resistance measuring, and verification of non-conforming materials.
  • Provide training and certification tests to operators and technicians, documenting training history and maintaining records.
  • Review current products and processes for compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with process engineers, the quality department, and production leads/supervisors to enhance product quality and output.
  • Assist with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control plan activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience with quality and process control in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Understanding of basic statistical concepts and methods.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Proficient in using jigs, gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  • Proficient with data extraction and manipulation, including pivot tables, graphs, and charts through MS Excel.
  • Good team player with a positive and proactive attitude; self-starter who performs well under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and lift and sort parts of up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Willingness to work in different shift schedules or some overtime as needed.
