About the position

RiverTech is seeking an Industrial Process Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and servicing of commercial and industrial chillers and process piping systems at Tinker AFB, OK. The role involves troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining effective communication with supervisors and customers. The technician will work independently and is responsible for the accurate and timely performance of duties while adhering to environmental laws and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial and industrial chillers and process piping systems.
  • Utilize moisture, temperature, pressure, and flow measurement equipment for air and fluids.
  • Keep supervisor informed of unique situations and problems encountered, and report safety and environmental work requirements.
  • Scan utility systems for leaks or other issues, lubricate, grease, and perform filter changes.
  • Conduct periodic inspections on chiller systems, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Repair or replace compressors, electric motors, fans, belts, and pulleys.
  • Service and repair evaporators, condensers, and receivers, including repacking valves and cleaning coils.
  • Utilize technical manuals, blueprints, and specifications to perform repairs and maintenance.
  • Complete daily work order logs documenting inspections, maintenance, and repair information.
  • Respond to after-hours callouts as needed and interface with customers for feedback.
  • Operate motor vehicles in accordance with company policies and comply with health and safety rules.

Requirements

  • Oklahoma Mechanical Journeyman License.
  • Factory Trained Certification from three of the four major chiller companies (Carrier, Dakin, Trane, York).
  • Minimum of 15 years licensed experience in HVAC and refrigeration repair, with at least 10 years on large ton chillers (100-ton and over).
  • Basic understanding of DDC controls and automatic control monitoring systems.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid insurance.
  • Universal Refrigerant license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to changes in technology and facility codes and standards.
  • Professional and courteous interaction with diverse individuals.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • High School diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

  • 18 years of experience in HVAC and refrigeration repair and process piping.
  • Factory Trained Certification from all four major chiller companies.
  • Military experience.
  • Previous experience working on a military installation.
  • Experience working on Tinker AFB facilities.
  • Familiarity with military-specific facility codes and standards.
