About the position

The Industrial Process Technician at RiverTech is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and servicing of commercial and industrial chillers and process piping systems at Tinker AFB, OK. This role requires a skilled technician with extensive experience in HVAC systems, particularly large ton chillers, and the ability to work independently while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial and industrial chillers and process piping systems.
• Utilize moisture, temperature, pressure, and flow measurement equipment for air and fluids.
• Keep supervisor informed of unique situations and problems encountered, and report safety and environmental work requirements for resolution.
• Scan utility systems for leaks or other problems, such as waterlogged steam traps.
• Lubricate, grease, oil, and perform filter changes, labeling all lubrication points.
• Conduct periodic inspections on chiller systems, troubleshoot and locate malfunctions, diagnose problems, and perform condition assessments as directed.
• Repair or replace compressors, electric motors, fans, belts, and pulleys.
• Service and repair evaporators, condensers, and receivers.
• Repack valves, lubricate moving parts, replace filters, and clean coils.
• Repair components within a system, including transformers, motors, electrodes, solenoids, rheostats, and aqua stats.
• Utilize and interpret technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and specifications.
• Complete daily work order logs documenting inspections, maintenance, and repair information.
• Respond to after normal working hours callouts as needed.
• Interface with customers and gather feedback as applicable.
• Operate motor vehicles in accordance with company vehicle policies.
• Comply with applicable federal, state, USAF, and OSHA environmental laws and regulations.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.

Requirements

• Must have an Oklahoma Mechanical Journeyman License.
• Must have a Factory Trained Certification from three of the four major chiller companies (Carrier, Dakin, Trane, York).
• Minimum of fifteen years' licensed experience in HVAC and refrigeration repair, with at least ten years on large ton chillers (100-ton and over).
• Basic understanding of DDC controls and automatic control monitoring systems.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Current state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid insurance.
• Universal Refrigerant license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.
• Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional manner.
• Proficient in the use of a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Minimum of a High School diploma or GED.

• Military experience.
• Previous experience working on a military installation.
• Experience working on Tinker AFB facilities.
• Familiarity with military-specific facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
