About the position

The Industrial Progress Engineer at Michelin will play a crucial role in enhancing productivity and reducing costs within the truck tire manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, SC. This position focuses on continuous improvement through the application of industrial engineering techniques and Lean concepts, aiming to optimize processes and support operational management in achieving safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Industrial Engineer techniques and Lean concepts to improve process flows and reduce operational expenses.
  • Analyze and challenge existing procedures, making recommendations and integrating solutions with operational management.
  • Provide guidance and support to operational management by identifying progress opportunities and supporting the Michelin Manufacturing Way.
  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, tools, equipment, and work activities.
  • Conduct facility workforce planning, productivity planning, and machine capacity analysis.
  • Perform process effectiveness analysis, project management, and expansion needs analysis.
  • Conduct material flow analysis and maintain engineered time standards.
  • Engage in value stream mapping, process flow, and line balancing.

Requirements

  • BS in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical major.
  • Minimum of three to five years of industrial or manufacturing-related engineering experience, including internships or co-op experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with military experience as a plus.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated solid teamwork, interpersonal, and planning skills.
