About the position

The position serves as the technical source of information for construction projects, requiring a thorough understanding of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. The role involves maintaining professional relationships with various stakeholders and may include supervising and training Field Engineers. The position has three levels (I, II, and Senior) based on experience and complexity of projects, providing opportunities for career progression.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the components of the project management plan (PMP) including scope, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality, safety, and risk management plans.
  • Develops a procurement schedule and integrates it with the project CPM schedule, procuring necessary materials and equipment.
  • Administers budgeting and cost control processes to ensure project completion within the approved budget.
  • Maintains 'As-built' contract documents and compiles close-out requirements including operation manuals and warranties.
  • Participates in concrete form design and related equipment selection, and performs takeoffs for various construction elements.
  • Plans, acquires, develops, and supervises project team members for effective project execution.
  • Prepares and maintains quantity reporting mechanisms, meeting agendas, and project logs.
  • Prepares and reviews change orders and maintains the change order log, ensuring timely execution of budget adjustments.
  • Identifies potential claims and mitigates or resolves them in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • An advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards is required.
  • A four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training and related experience, plus a minimum of three to four years of similar construction engineering experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with larger and more complex projects for Step II and Senior levels.
  • Ability to supervise and train Field Engineer positions.
