About the position

The Industrial Project Engineer position at McGough is an entry-level role within the project management career path, designed for individuals looking to develop their skills in various industrial sectors such as Agriculture, Power & Infrastructure, Pharma, Life Sciences, and Tech. The role involves assisting project management tasks, gaining experience, and progressively taking on more responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in project management tasks as assigned by the project management staff
  • Develop skills and progressively take on more responsibility
  • Assist pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirements
  • Participate in QA/AC page turn sessions
  • Understand self-perform capabilities and warehouse equipment
  • Perform quantity take-offs
  • Assist project team in soliciting and reviewing subcontract bids
  • Assist in performing trade scope reviews
  • Assist superintendent and project manager with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
  • Learn and understand Last Planner system
  • Participate in daily/weekly work planning
  • Review all drawings and specifications
  • Upload/Download electronic documents and create shortcuts
  • Draft and process Requests for information (RFI)
  • Review and process shop drawings/submittals
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings
  • Assist in obtaining any LEED documentation
  • Assist project team in reviewing and processing subcontractor change requests
  • Assist project team in reviewing subcontractor invoices
  • Understand change document types and appropriate uses (CCDs, PRs, ASIs, etc.)
  • Assist superintendent in tracking labor costs
  • Assist superintendent with material procurement and cost coding
  • Collect and report cost history data as directed
  • Attend all project and company safety meetings
  • Attend foremen's meetings and draft meeting minutes
  • Attend construction coordination meetings and draft meeting minutes
  • Participate in start-up meetings
  • Participate in Project Assessment meetings
  • Participate in company business development activities
  • Establish relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors
  • Attend and participate in project management and other company meetings
  • Attend any training relevant to the position
  • Attend company-sponsored events
  • Support and follow standard of work
  • Participate in Lean events and support of the McGough way

Requirements

  • Preferred: Construction Management or related degree
  • Internship, education or field experience
