About the position
The Industrial Sales Engineer Trainee position at Tencarva Machinery Company is a hybrid role designed for recent graduates with a strong engineering background. The trainee will spend approximately 1-2 years in training, primarily in the field, assisting established Sales Engineers and Application Engineers. The role involves investigating customer mechanical problems, providing technical solutions, and eventually managing a sales territory. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop entrepreneurial skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Call on management representatives such as engineers and architects to promote products and services.
- Review blueprints and customer documents to prepare cost estimates and project increases in production.
- Propose changes in equipment or processes to reduce costs or improve operations.
- Provide technical services related to equipment use, operation, and maintenance.
- Draw up sales or service contracts for products or services.
- Provide technical training to client employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university, preferably in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, Electrical, etc.).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Strong mathematical skills, including advanced concepts such as exponents and logarithms.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in Spanish is a benefit but not required.
