About the position

As an Industrial Sales Territory Manager at Atlas Copco Compressors LLC, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and expanding our market share in the rotary screw air compressor sector. This position is based in Winston-Salem, NC, and offers a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary ranging from $60,000 to $90,000, with the potential for unlimited commissions, targeting an income of over $110,000 in your first year. You will be responsible for prospecting, sourcing, and maintaining quality customer relationships in your assigned territory, focusing on both new and factory-refurbished equipment sales. Your mission will be to achieve or exceed assigned sales goals by developing strategic action plans and schedules to identify specific sales prospects and markets. In this role, you will engage directly with customers, actively participating in planned prospecting activities to grow your customer base. You will follow up on new leads and referrals, establish rapport with existing and new customers, and respond promptly to inquiries. Your responsibilities will also include preparing and presenting quotes, proposals, and pricing, as well as overseeing customer service through quality checks and follow-ups to resolve any concerns. You will maintain a professional image and enhance the company's reputation by embodying our core values of commitment, interaction, and innovation. Additionally, you will be expected to continuously update your knowledge of products and sales strategies through educational opportunities and networking. Reporting will be a key aspect of your role, as you will prepare reports on your activities, lost orders, and performance against budget. You will contribute to positive company branding by projecting a knowledgeable and customer-oriented image. This position requires a self-directed individual with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, source, and maintain quality customers in assigned areas to grow market share.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals by developing action plans and schedules.
  • Call on and sell products directly to customers in the assigned area.
  • Engage in planned prospecting activities to increase the customer base.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  • Establish rapport by maintaining regular contact with existing and new customers.
  • Prepare and present quotes, proposals, pricing, and credit terms.
  • Oversee customer services through quality checks and follow-up to resolve customer concerns.
  • Maintain a professional image and enhance the company's reputation.
  • Obtain, develop, prepare, and present sales materials and promotional programs at events.
  • Continuously update job knowledge through educational opportunities and networking.
  • Prepare reports on activity, lost orders, closings, and performance against budget.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct sales experience or customer service experience, preferably in industrial equipment sales.
  • Four-year degree in engineering, business, or marketing preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Self-directed with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven business analysis skills.
  • Ability to utilize company CRM system to log all sales visits and opportunities promptly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in industrial equipment sales is preferred.
  • Familiarity with rotary screw air compressors and related products.
