About the position

The Industrial Water/Wastewater Project Manager at CDM Smith will lead and manage industrial water and wastewater projects, serving as the primary contact for planning and design. This role involves providing technical guidance, mentoring engineering staff, and ensuring project adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. The position also includes business development activities and maintaining client relationships across various industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

• Manage and serve as the lead Project Manager on water/wastewater projects.
• Provide technical guidance, senior leadership, and mentoring to engineering staff.
• Develop, monitor, and adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Complete Quality Assurance/Quality Control of key deliverables.
• Assist Client Service Leaders with technical marketing for clients throughout the U.S.
• Participate in professional societies relevant to the industry.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with key decision makers in client organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, or related degree.
• 10 years of related experience in industrial water/wastewater projects.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional engineering (PE) license, strongly preferred.
• Previous experience managing multi-discipline project teams.
• Excellent communication, networking, and team building skills.
• Previous business development experience including preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
• Master's degree.
