About the position
CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Manager for its Industrial Business unit, focusing on managing industrial water and wastewater projects. The role involves being the primary contact for project planning and design, providing technical guidance, and assisting with business development across various industrial sectors. This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, and offers opportunities to work with diverse clients in sectors such as High Tech, Petrochemical, and Food & Beverage.
Responsibilities
- Manage and serve as the lead Project Manager on water/wastewater projects.
- Provide technical guidance, senior leadership, and mentoring to engineering staff.
- Develop, monitor, and adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Complete Quality Assurance/Quality Control of key deliverables.
- Assist Client Service Leaders with technical marketing for clients throughout the U.S.
- Participate in professional societies relevant to the industry.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with key decision makers in client organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, or related degree.
- 10 years of related experience in industrial water/wastewater projects.
- PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification required within 12 months of hire or promotion.
- Experience managing multi-discipline project teams.
- Excellent communication, networking, and team building skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Professional engineering (PE) license, strongly preferred.
- Master's degree.
- Previous business development experience including preparation of proposals and cost estimates for industrial clients.
