About the position

The Industry Career Coach for U.S. Government, Economics, and Consulting at the Center for Career Services is responsible for guiding undergraduate students and alumni in their career development within these sectors. This role involves creating specialized resources, conducting coaching sessions, and developing workshops to enhance career management skills. The coach will collaborate with various stakeholders to provide tailored programming and support for students seeking careers in public policy, consulting, and related fields.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group career coaching sessions to educate students and alumni on industry cluster areas.
• Develop and deliver workshops and educational programming on advanced career management skills.
• Maintain expertise in assigned industry cluster areas and communicate this knowledge to students and alumni.
• Collaborate with employer development staff to enhance partnerships with university departments and alumni.
• Serve as an advisor to student clubs and organizations related to the industry cluster.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master's degree in a relevant area of study.
• Working knowledge of state and federal agency hiring practices and federal resume composition.
• Experience working with college students and knowledge of coaching and student development theories.
• Professional experience in career coaching, career development, or related fields.
• Strong communication, presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with case interviews for management and economic consulting.
• Experience developing collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Supervisory, service management, marketing, and outreach experience.
• Experience with web-based career management tools.
