About the position

The Infant/Toddler Assistant Preschool Teacher at Kiddie Academy is responsible for providing a safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate educational environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom management, planning, and supervision, while ensuring that the physical, social, and emotional needs of the children are met. The teacher will engage with parents and staff to foster a supportive learning atmosphere and maintain compliance with licensing regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the physical, social, and emotional needs of the children are met daily.
  • Implement policies and procedures to keep children healthy and safe.
  • Create activities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving appropriate to children's developmental levels.
  • Assist and supervise children during all activities.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the classroom according to NAEYC guidelines.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily notes and attendance reports.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and Academy events.
  • Prepare and implement classroom lesson plans and schedules.
  • Develop instructional aids and materials for classroom activities.
  • Assist children during mealtimes and cleanup.
  • Ensure classroom and outdoor equipment is in good working condition.
  • Direct activities of other staff in the classroom to maintain order.
  • Interact with parents to encourage family engagement and maintain open communication.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 12 Core ECE Units, including infant/toddler units (optional).
  • Prior experience working in a Child Care Facility (preferred).
  • Up-to-date immunizations.
  • Strong knowledge of educational techniques for teaching young children.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand and move around for long hours while teaching.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Early Childhood Education (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in Childcare (1 year preferred).
