About the position

The Infant and Toddler Preschool Teacher at Kiddie Academy is responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate educational environment for young children. This role involves daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom, ensuring that the physical, social, and emotional needs of the children are met. The teacher will also lead and supervise an Assistant Teacher or aide, while addressing concerns from parents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a stimulating and safe educational environment for children.
  • Plan, manage, and supervise the classroom and children daily.
  • Lead and functionally supervise an Assistant Teacher or aide.
  • Address concerns from parents, children, and classroom staff.
  • Ensure the physical, social, and emotional needs of the children are met daily.
  • Create activities that encourage curiosity and problem-solving appropriate to children's developmental levels.
  • Assist and supervise children during all activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the classroom according to NAEYC guidelines.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily notes and attendance reports.
  • Attend staff meetings, Academy events, and parent meetings as requested.
  • Prepare and implement classroom lesson plans and schedules.
  • Develop instructional aids and materials for classroom activities.
  • Assist children during mealtimes and cleanup.
  • Ensure classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition.
  • Direct activities of other staff to maintain an orderly classroom.
  • Interact with parents and maintain open communication to encourage family engagement.
  • Schedule and conduct parent-teacher conferences throughout the year.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 12 Core ECE Units including infant/toddler units.
  • Prior experience working in a Child Care Facility.
  • Up-to-date immunizations.
  • Strong knowledge of educational techniques for teaching young children.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand and move around for long hours while teaching.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience in Early Childhood Education (Preferred).
  • 1 year of experience in Childcare (Preferred).
