About the position

The Malvern School is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher for the Infant classroom at The Malvern School of Oaks, PA. This full-time position requires commitment from Monday to Friday, where the selected candidate will play a crucial role in implementing a superior Early Childhood Education program that aligns with the school's policies and philosophy. The Assistant Teacher will be responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy, and educational environment for the children in their care, ensuring that the classroom is conducive to learning and development. In this role, the Assistant Teacher will assist in the design and execution of creative curriculum activities that engage young children and foster their growth. Regular communication with parents is essential, as the Assistant Teacher will meet or exceed parent expectations through in-person interactions and the use of technology. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of a superior Early Childhood Education program in accordance with school policies and Malvern School philosophy.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and educational environment for the class.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, in person and through the use of technology, meeting or exceeding parent expectations.
  • Design and execute creative curriculum activities that engage young children.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least 2500 hours (1 year, 4 months) of documented experience with young children in a licensed facility OR 15 relevant college credits (or CDA) and at least 1250 hours (8 months) documented experience with young children in a licensed facility.
  • Must be (or be willing to start) pursuing a CDA (Child Development Associate) OR a degree in the field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a licensed childcare facility.
