About the position

The Malvern School is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher for the Infant classroom at The Malvern School of Westtown, PA. This full-time position requires commitment from Monday to Friday, where the selected candidate will play a crucial role in implementing a superior Early Childhood Education program that aligns with the school's policies and philosophy. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the lead teacher to create a safe, healthy, and educational environment for infants, ensuring that the needs of each child are met with care and attention. In this role, the Assistant Teacher will be responsible for maintaining a nurturing atmosphere that promotes learning and development. Regular communication with parents is essential, and the Assistant Teacher will utilize both in-person interactions and technology to keep parents informed about their child's progress and activities. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of a superior Early Childhood Education program in accordance with school policies and Malvern School philosophy.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and educational environment for the class.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, in person and through the use of technology, meeting or exceeding parent expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least 2500 hours (1 year, 4 months) of documented experience with young children in a licensed facility OR 15 relevant college credits (or CDA) and at least 1250 hours (8 months) documented experience with young children in a licensed facility.
  • Must be (or be willing to start) pursuing a CDA (Child Development Associate) OR a degree in the field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a licensed childcare facility.
  • Relevant college credits in Early Childhood Education.
