About the position

The Infant Feeding Technician plays a crucial role in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric departments at St. John's Hospital. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and proper preparation of milk products for patients, adhering to specific recipes and aseptic techniques. The technician will also deliver these feedings directly to patient rooms, supporting the daily operations of the unit.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare feedings according to specific recipes using aseptic techniques.
  • Deliver prepared feedings to patient rooms in the NICU and Pediatric departments.
  • Support daily operations within the NICU to ensure optimal safety for all patients receiving prepared milk products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Currently enrolled for a minimum of 2 years in a nutrition and/or health science focused program is preferred.
  • 1 year of healthcare, clinical, nutrition, dietetics or pharmacy experience is preferred.
  • 1 year experience and knowledge of safe food handling techniques is preferred.
  • 1 year experience and knowledge of newborn and pediatric nutrition is preferred.
  • Any accredited food handler certification is required or to be obtained within 120 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Dietetic Technician from the American of Dietetics and Nutrition is preferred.
