About the position

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will assist in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role involves assisting the Lead Teacher in implementing engaging activities that promote learning through play while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment for all children.
  • Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
  • Assist in daily activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and social interaction.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support the overall development of each child.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and any incidents.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development and classroom activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the classroom.

Requirements

  • Experience working with infants/toddlers in a preschool or childcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
  • First aid certification is highly desirable; infant care experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with special education practices is beneficial for supporting diverse learners.
  • Previous experience in babysitting or childcare roles will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and staff.
  • A degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with toddlers is advantageous for this role.
