About the position

The Infant-Toddler Instructional Assistant supports teaching staff in infant and toddler classrooms, ensuring compliance with grant standards, childcare licensing regulations, and OCDC policies. The role involves maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment and providing coverage for child/teacher ratios during staff breaks and meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teaching staff with various duties in the infant and/or toddler classrooms.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment.
  • Provide coverage for child/teacher ratios when teaching staff must leave the classroom for breaks, meetings, and/or planning time.

Requirements

  • No prior education or experience is required for this position.
  • Must meet Oregon Early Learning Division's requirements for an infant/toddler Teacher Aide II within 4 months from date of hire.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria required.
  • Infant-Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or 1 year Oregon community college certificate with training or coursework in early childhood development focusing on infants and toddlers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
