About the position
The Infant and Toddler Teacher at Urban Strategies LLC is responsible for promoting and developing the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and linguistic growth of infants and toddlers. This role involves creating nurturing learning environments, managing age-appropriate classroom activities, and building strong relationships with families to support children's development and school readiness. The teacher will work in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and local childcare licensing requirements, ensuring a safe and engaging atmosphere for children.
Responsibilities
- Promote a learning environment for infants and toddlers in accordance with approved curriculum and Performance Standards.
- Establish and maintain a healthy and safe indoor and outdoor environment for children.
- Conduct daily playground health and safety monitoring.
- Detect and report any signs of illness, discomfort, or unusual behavior of children.
- Maintain direct supervision of all children and ensure their safety.
- Create a pleasant, inviting atmosphere that supports the ethnic and cultural backgrounds of the children.
- Implement the curriculum and teaching experience to meet fidelity.
- Maintain data management system requirements for documenting and tracking data.
- Provide an atmosphere that promotes and reinforces parental engagement.
Requirements
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialed in Infant and Toddler (current) or Associate Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid Driver's License, Personal Vehicle, and Liability Insurance required.
- Minimum two (2) years of recent, paid experience in a childcare or preschool setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and local state childcare licensing requirements.
