About the position

As an Infant Toddler Teacher at Primrose School of Evergreen, you will provide a safe and loving environment for babies ranging in age from six weeks to 24 months old. With a captivating and provided curriculum of music, puppetry and storytelling, you will provide opportunities for our youngest children to safely discover and explore their expanding world. The privilege of caring for someone else's baby is given only to those who are truly patient, dedicated and compassionate individuals. Immediate opening! We may have other teaching opportunities in our Two's, Preschool, and Pre-K programs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children in a teacher
  • Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis
  • Provide an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children
  • Ensure that all class bulletin boards are current and provide parents with an overview of the material taught in class
  • Assist and coordinate snacks, meals, naptime, and bathroom activities
  • Accept responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds
  • Observe all rules and regulations about the health, safety, and care of children
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times
  • Plan with Education Coach and implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials
  • Plan with the Director all required parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have patience and a strong desire to love and nurture young children
  • MUST have 12 core Early Childhood Education units with a grade of C or better required (Child development, Child-family-community, Curriculum), including 3 units in Infant/Toddler required
  • Work experience in a licensed childcare facility preferred
  • Must meet required state background check
  • Able to work on iPad to log children's daily activities
