About the position

The Infant Toddler Teacher at Primrose School of Willow Glen is responsible for supervising and managing a classroom of children aged 12 to 24 months. This full-time position requires a warm-hearted individual who can create a nurturing environment, implement play-based activities, and support children's developmental needs. The role involves maintaining a well-kept classroom, coordinating daily activities, and collaborating with parents to ensure the best care for the children.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children.
  • Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity and exploration.
  • Ensures that all class bulletin boards are current and informative for parents.
  • Maintains and performs necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom and playgrounds.
  • Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, naptime, and bathroom activities.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
  • Observes all rules and regulations regarding health, safety, and care of children.
  • Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior.
  • Plans and implements approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules using the Primrose School curriculum.
  • Plans required parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
  • Logs children's daily activities using an iPad.

Requirements

  • Must be fully vaccinated.
  • Completion of 12 core unit classes with a grade of C or better in relevant subjects.
  • 3 units in Infant/Toddler education are required.
  • Work experience in a licensed childcare facility as a teacher.
  • Pleasant and friendly demeanor with an outgoing personality.
  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency (Title 22).
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for child handling and safety.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with play-based learning activities.
  • Ability to provide potty training support.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
