About the position
The Primrose School of Willow Glen is seeking a full-time Infant Toddler Teacher to supervise and manage a classroom of children aged 12 to 24 months. The role involves creating a nurturing and engaging environment that supports the developmental needs of infants and toddlers, while also ensuring compliance with local childcare regulations. The ideal candidate will be warm-hearted, playful, and capable of fostering a love for learning through play-based activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children.
- Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
- Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity and exploration.
- Ensures that all class bulletin boards are current and informative for parents.
- Maintains and performs necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom and playgrounds.
- Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, naptime, and bathroom activities.
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
- Observes all rules and regulations regarding the health, safety, and care of children.
- Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior.
- Plans with the Education Coach and implements approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules.
- Plans required parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
- Logs children's daily activities using an iPad.
Requirements
- Must be fully vaccinated.
- Completion of 12 core unit classes with a grade of C or better, including child development, child-family-community, and curriculum.
- 3 units in Infant/Toddler education are required.
- Work experience in a licensed childcare facility as a teacher is necessary.
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency (Title 22), including immunization, health screening, fingerprinting, and background check.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
