About the position

The Infant/Toddler Teacher is responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and development of children in cooperation with parents and early childhood professionals. This role involves planning and developing a culturally appropriate curriculum that meets the developmental needs of infants and toddlers, in alignment with Head Start Performance Standards and relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety, health, and development of each child.
  • Collaborate with parents and early childhood professionals.
  • Plan and develop a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Implement culturally appropriate practices in teaching.
  • Adhere to Head Start Performance Standards and day care licensing regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
  • Infant Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate within 6 months from date of hire, or one year Oregon community college certificate in early childhood development with a focus on infants and toddlers.
  • Training or coursework in early childhood development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with infants and toddlers in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
