About the position

The Infant/Toddler Teacher at Young World Academy is responsible for creating a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for infants and toddlers. This role involves implementing engaging curricula that promote personal development through play and planned activities, while also fostering family engagement and maintaining a safe classroom atmosphere. The position requires collaboration with co-teachers and participation in professional development to enhance teaching practices.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive curriculum that engages children.
  • Work with co-teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans and daily activities.
  • Welcome families into the classroom and promote family engagement.
  • Maintain a safe and positive program, exhibiting a warm attitude toward children and parents.
  • Encourage problem-solving and self-help skills in children.
  • Use redirection and logical consequences to guide children.
  • Respond immediately to the individual needs of children and families.
  • Participate in professional growth through staff meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain current first aid and CPR Certification.
  • Follow all company and state EEC Policies and Procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Infant & Toddler Certification
  • 1-2 years of teaching experience
  • CPR Certification
  • Strong observational and analytical skills
  • Leadership skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Teaching Certification
  • Experience in a childcare setting
