About the position

The Infants Teacher Assistant I position at LifeQuest involves supporting the care and education of young children in a nurturing environment. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about working with children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development through various educational and caregiving activities. The position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with a focus on creating a positive learning atmosphere and engaging with families.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
• Implement policies to care for children's personal needs, including feeding, napping, and toileting.
• Attend staff meetings and center events as required.
• Commit to implementing PW-PBIS in classroom routines.
• Utilize PBIS lesson plans to teach and review program-wide expectations daily.
• Acknowledge children's positive behavior at a ratio of at least 5:1.
• Promote the development of positive peer relationships.
• Provide a high-quality learning environment that fosters inclusion and equity for all children.
• Participate in classroom observations and collaborate with classroom coach for professional development.
• Complete child social-emotional screener for all children and Behavior Incident Reports as needed.
• Encourage family engagement through various mechanisms.

Requirements

• Willingness to complete a minimum of twelve (12) annual training hours upon hire.
• Current CDA/SAC degree from an accredited college in Early Childhood Education / Elementary Education, or related field of studies.
• 2 years' experience in a childcare environment (2500 documented hours).
