About the position
The Infection Control - Employee Health Nurse at ScionHealth is responsible for managing the hospital-wide infection control program and overseeing the Employee Health program. This role involves consulting with healthcare professionals to ensure the effective management of infectious and immune-suppressed patients, adhering to guidelines set by regulatory agencies such as the CDC and JCAHO. The position is crucial in maintaining a safe healthcare environment and supporting the recovery of critically ill patients.
Responsibilities
- Consult with physicians, managers, and staff regarding the management of infectious and/or immune-suppressed patients.
- Implement an effective hospital-wide infection control program in accordance with CDC, JCAHO, and other regulatory agencies.
- Direct all functions of the Employee Health program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or a healthcare-related field.
- Current State RN license required.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in medical-surgical or critical care nursing.
- Experience in Infection Control with basic knowledge of epidemiology, infections, diseases, sterilization, sanitation, and disinfection practices.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in clinical specialty preferred.
- ICP or related certification preferred.
- Experience in handling employee health preferred.
