About the position

The Infection Preventionist Nurse at Ingleside Communities is responsible for the investigation, reporting, prevention, and control of infections among patients and healthcare personnel. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of infection control processes, CDC guidelines, and the ability to teach infection prevention principles to healthcare staff. The position involves data analysis and quality review related to healthcare quality information, ensuring adherence to infection prevention standards.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, report, prevent, and control infections among patients and personnel.
• Assist with in-service programs related to infection prevention and control.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of infection control processes in the healthcare setting.
• Develop and implement a system for identifying, investigating, reporting, and preventing the spread of healthcare-acquired infections.
• Communicate appropriate reports to the Infection Prevention Committee and other relevant committees.
• Complete required CMR reports to the Public Health Department in a timely manner.
• Teach principles and practical application of infection prevention to healthcare personnel.
• Analyze healthcare data and enter it into various databases.

Requirements

• Current RN License in the state of Wisconsin.
• Clinical experience and knowledge of CDC guidelines and definitions of infections.
• Familiarity with The Joint Commission Standards and Federal/State Regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis methodology.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of microbiology and modes of transmission of disease entities.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems.
