About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Infection Preventionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular surveillance of infection rates and trends within the facility.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to educate staff on infection control practices and protocols.
  • Analyze data collection related to infection incidents and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing the risk of infections.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for critical care settings, assisted living environments, and occupational health concerns.
  • Stay current with advancements in infection prevention and control methodologies.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, microbiology, epidemiology, and critical care practices.
  • Experience in assisted living or healthcare settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA compliance.
  • Proficient in data collection methods related to infection surveillance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate diverse audiences effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting data related to infection trends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is a plus but not required.
