About the position

In this role as a Data Governance & Data Engineering Manager within our Cybersecurity, Privacy and Forensics team, you will be instrumental in addressing our clients' most pressing business and data protection challenges. You will lead a growing team that is dedicated to driving strategic programs, data analytics, innovation, and technical implementation activities. Your expertise will be crucial in helping organizations manage vast amounts of electronic data while navigating the complex legal and business processes that arise during critical events such as litigation, regulatory requests, and internal investigations. The Information Governance team is focused on assisting clients in understanding their current capabilities and implementing governance controls that effectively mitigate information risk while maximizing the exploitation of their information assets. As a Manager, you will work collaboratively with a team of problem solvers, tackling complex business issues from strategy to execution. You will be expected to pursue opportunities for personal and professional development, coach team members, and foster an environment of ownership and accountability. Your role will involve analyzing complex ideas and proposals, utilizing multiple sources of information to develop meaningful recommendations, and managing diverse viewpoints to build consensus. Upholding the firm's code of ethics and business conduct will be paramount as you build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders. The position requires a strong understanding of data governance strategies, architecture, and practices, as well as technology implementation. You will lead projects that define strategy and roadmap, operating models, policies, standards, and tool design. Your experience with data governance enterprise platforms and data analysis will be essential in deploying data lineage and data flow inventory solutions, as well as implementing structured data archiving and data lifecycle management activities. You will also be responsible for managing teams, business development opportunities, and ensuring successful project completion while maintaining high standards of client service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage data governance projects, defining strategy and roadmap, operating model, policies, standards, and tool design.
  • Develop and implement data governance strategies and practices to support enterprise data management.
  • Analyze complex business issues and provide meaningful recommendations to clients.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor team members, encouraging ownership of their development.
  • Manage project planning, engagement administration, budget management, and successful completion of work streams.
  • Identify and address client needs, demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to write and present proposals to prospective clients.
  • Lead evaluation of new solutions and services, providing business cases for new Data Governance technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance or related areas.
  • Experience managing projects related to data governance strategy, architecture, and technology implementation.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and models, including the 3-line of defense model.
  • Experience with data governance enterprise platforms such as Collibra, Alation, or Informatica.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, data protection, and regulatory aspects of data governance.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling in SQL Server and Oracle environments.
  • Experience in data analysis and enterprise metadata management, particularly in Privacy and Data Lifecycle use cases.
  • Ability to lead teams in complex business environments and manage client relationships effectively.

  • EDM Council DCAM Certified Assessor certification.
  • Data Governance & Stewardship Professional (DGSP) certification.
  • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification.
  • Experience with data discovery tools such as BigID, OneTrust, or Microsoft.
  • Knowledge of data architecture, profiling, quality, and metadata management.
