About the position

The Informatica ETL Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes using Informatica tools. This role involves collaborating with business analysts and data architects to implement efficient data integration solutions while ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the ETL process. The developer will also optimize ETL performance, conduct testing, and maintain documentation of workflows and data mappings.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter, PowerExchange, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Optimize ETL processes for performance and efficiency, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum throughput.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL process, implementing data validation and cleansing routines.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing of ETL processes, troubleshoot issues, and provide post-production support.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of ETL processes, data mappings, and workflows.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and contribute to database design decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in ETL development, with a strong focus on Informatica tools.
  • Proficiency in Informatica PowerCenter and other Informatica products.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with databases like Azure DB and SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and BI architecture.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux scripting and scheduling tools.
  • Familiarity with data modeling techniques and schema designs (e.g., star, snowflake schemas).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Insurance, Guidewire PolicyCenter and Policy Migration Tool.
