The SAP BODS Consultant position is focused on the design and implementation of complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) interfaces using a variety of tools and technologies. The role is primarily based in Raleigh, NC, with potential opportunities in Phoenix, AZ. The consultant will be responsible for creating ETL processes that are agnostic to the source and target types, ensuring that data is accurately and efficiently transferred between systems. A strong preference is given to candidates with experience in SAP BODS, as this will be a key tool in the development process. In this role, the consultant will engage in performance tuning and troubleshooting across all technologies utilized in the ETL processes. A solid understanding of databases and SQL is essential, along with decent data modeling skills. The consultant will also be expected to lead a team of developers and QA personnel, ensuring that project timelines are adhered to. Experience with Agile methodologies is preferred, as the consultant will need to work closely with both upstream and downstream stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical specifications and JIRA stories. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in ETL tools, including repository maintenance, job migration, monitoring, and user maintenance. Familiarity with Change Data Capture (CDC) and Oracle Golden Gate is also important, as is experience with various source and target systems such as Oracle, SAP, SQL Server, and file uploads. The consultant will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing data warehouse project deliverables, including design documents and high-level data mapping for ETL specifications. Additionally, the consultant will create transformations in ETL jobs to achieve data cleansing and standardization during initial data loads. They will provide support for integration testing, defect fixing, and deployment, demonstrating proficiency in various transformation techniques such as Query, Push Down, SQL, Table Comparison, Pivot, and Lookup. A strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, data mining, and data warehouse concepts is also required. The consultant should possess excellent analytical skills and be capable of transferring data from Oracle and SQL Server tables, as well as web services, either incrementally or through full loads to the data warehouse on a periodic basis. The ability to troubleshoot existing ETL jobs and improve their performance is crucial, as is the capability to create and load data into aggregate tables using transformations. The consultant should be able to perform tasks independently and effectively.
