About the position

As an Information Assurance Security Specialist - Junior (Training) at Jacobs, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing training, certification, and awareness programs for military, civilian, and DoD contractor personnel at USSOCOM and its associated commands. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the security and operational readiness of the U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF). You will be responsible for ensuring that personnel are well-versed in cybersecurity practices and compliant with federal and DoD regulations, including DoDD 8140.01. Your primary focus will be on creating a comprehensive Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign aimed at educating SOF personnel and their families about secure computer practices both at work and at home. This will involve developing training materials, conducting training sessions, and maintaining an effective security training program that aligns with the policies and standards set forth by various military and governmental organizations. You will also be tasked with tracking and validating the cyber workforce, reviewing mandated training, and updating Local Area Network (LAN) Certification training as necessary. In addition to these responsibilities, you will facilitate the planning and execution of a Cybersecurity Training Program, assist in the development of training requirements based on mission needs, and coordinate metrics to identify common security issues. Your role will also include the development of weekly news articles and other awareness aids to be distributed to Cybersecurity officers within SOF organizations. This position requires a proactive approach to cybersecurity training and a commitment to fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated, on-site support for Cybersecurity training, certification, and awareness.
  • Review mandated training requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Track and validate the cyber workforce to maintain readiness.
  • Review and update Local Area Network (LAN) Certification training materials.
  • Develop training requirements for cyber-related threats based on mission and situational needs.
  • Facilitate and coordinate metrics and trends to identify common security issues.
  • Assist USSOCOM and its Component Commands in planning and executing a Cybersecurity Training Program.
  • Develop a Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign including weekly news articles and aids for SOF personnel.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and execution of a Cybersecurity Exercise program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer or systems science discipline.
  • Three (3) years of progressive, relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • DOD Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 certification required.
  • Experience with the US Combatant Commands (USCENTCOM/USSOCOM) is desired.
  • Working knowledge of the DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with DOD IA processes and policies (e.g., CJCSM 6510.01, Incident Response).
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
