About the position

The Information Assurance Specialist at BlueWater Federal will support the Department of State (DOS) at Fort Novosel by ensuring the operational security of Army information systems and Platform IT (PIT) systems. This role involves implementing and enforcing cybersecurity policies, providing Information Assurance (IA) support, and ensuring compliance with training and access requirements for all personnel utilizing the DOS network.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for the Army information system or Platform IT (PIT) system.
• Implement and enforce all DOD information system and PIT system cybersecurity policies and procedures, as defined by cybersecurity-related documents.
• Provide Information Assurance (IA) support, ensuring compliance with IA requirements for all users of the DOS network.
• Ensure that all contractors, government, and military personnel utilizing the DOS network have the required IA training and approvals.
• Review and evaluate the effects on security of system changes and document all changes.
• Prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, DOS IA SOP, and other documents required for DOS to meet Army IS cybersecurity requirements.
• Process training rosters to ensure accuracy and compliance with IA requirements.
• Add and delete users from DOS Groups through the Global Federated User Directory (GFUD) system.
• Manage users in Army Training Certification and Tracking System (ATCTS), verifying that they meet all training requirements.
• Process and submit System Authorization Access Requests (DD2875's) for NIPR, SIPR, EPs, PAAs, and Appointment Letters.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or other relevant fields is desired.
• 2+ years of Information Assurance experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Army Portfolio Management Solution (APMS), Army Training and Certification System (ATCTS).
• Must have an active Secret clearance.
• Must have Security+ or CAP certification.
• Knowledge of and experience with physical and virtual servers, SQL, Client Operating Systems, SAN, and Linux is desired.
