About the position

The Information Center Attendant I position at the Canterbury Welcome Center involves providing exceptional customer service and information to visitors, promoting the attractions of New Hampshire, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facility. This part-time role requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends and weekdays, with a total of 12 to 24 hours of work per week.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and information to visitors about New Hampshire attractions.
• Direct visitors to services using brochures, websites, and other resources.
• Assist travelers in highway and personal emergencies as needed.
• Perform general interior and exterior grounds upkeep, including custodial duties and snow removal.
• Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and brochures, alerting the supervisor when supplies are low.
• Assist the marketing team by communicating and promoting the State's campaign throughout the Welcome and Information Centers.
• Maintain a working knowledge of traveler information by attending seminars and training as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of 8th grade or its equivalent.
• Must enjoy working with the public and meeting new people.
• Possess great communication skills and maintain composure during stressful times.
• Ability to physically stand for long periods, negotiate stairs, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must have attained 18th birthday on or before the date of application.
• Availability to work various schedules as business needs require.
