About the position

The Information Governance Operations Analyst position offers a tremendous opportunity to join a prestigious law firm and a top-notch team. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and compliance of electronic legal recordkeeping within the firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing analytical and interpretive tasks necessary to develop recommendations that refine methodologies, procedures, processes, and controls required to minimize liability, risk, and costs associated with retaining both hardcopy and electronic data. In this role, you will assist in developing work practices for various practice areas and administrative departments to promote greater utilization and efficient management of electronic records. You will support your manager in building a global information governance program and implementing the necessary software and tools to maintain it. Ensuring the integrity of records and related metadata throughout the required records lifecycle, especially as information systems are upgraded or replaced, will be a key responsibility. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and maintaining compliance procedures, documentation, educational materials, and a portfolio of internal controls that align with information governance requirements. Tracking key performance indicators to measure compliance and preparing related reports regularly will also be part of your duties. This position allows for telecommuting two days a week and is available in the firm's offices located in Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, and Pittsburgh.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical or interpretive tasks necessary to develop recommendations to refine methodologies, procedures, processes, and controls required to minimize the liability, risk, and cost of retaining hardcopy and electronic data.

  • Create and maintain compliance procedures, documentation, educational materials, and a portfolio of internal controls about information governance requirements.
  • Track key performance indicators to measure compliance with information governance requirements and prepare related reports regularly.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Information Governance experience, including extensive knowledge of electronic legal recordkeeping.
  • Experience with technology solutions related to records management.
  • Tactical project skills to ensure the integrity of records and related metadata over the required lifecycle of records as information systems are upgraded or replaced.
  • Experience creating and maintaining compliance procedures, documentation, educational materials, and a portfolio of internal controls about information governance requirements.
