About the position

The Red Gate Group is seeking an experienced Information Operations Policy Analyst (Subject Matter Expert) to support the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict (ASD SOLIC) in Arlington, VA. This role is crucial in shaping and overseeing Department of Defense (DoD) policies and strategies related to operations in the information environment (OIE), ensuring the effective deterrence of, conduct of, and defense against information operations, disinformation, and misinformation. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to provide strategic policy guidance to senior DoD decision-makers, ensuring that the U.S. maintains a robust posture against malign information activities. In this position, the analyst will provide oversight and develop DoD policies, strategies, and planning for Operations in the Information Environment (OIE). This includes drafting directives, instructions, and position papers for senior leadership. The role also involves supporting the integration and supervision of efforts to counter information operations, which includes crafting materials for Congressional engagements and other high-level briefings. The analyst will establish and refine risk management processes to protect U.S. persons from foreign-targeted information activities and develop policies to implement these processes. Collaboration is key in this role, as the analyst will facilitate cooperation between the DoD, private sector, and academia on issues related to malign information activities, drafting necessary policy documents. Additionally, the analyst will develop legislative strategies related to OIE, focusing on appropriations and statutory actions, while coordinating policy issuances with an emphasis on Military Information Support Operations (MISO). The position also requires providing specialized advice on sensitive activities and special access programs (SAP) related to OIE, as well as reviewing and overseeing Service and Combatant Command OIE policies and plans. The analyst will prepare talking points, briefings, and reports for senior DoD leadership, ensuring alignment with OIE policy and objectives, and assist in periodic reviews of relevant policies and programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in special operations.
  • BA/BS Degree.
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five (5) years of combined OSD, Joint Staff or Service level experience.
