About the position
The Information Security Analyst at AUSGAR Technologies Inc. is responsible for ensuring the security of the organization's networks and information systems. This role involves monitoring IT security policies, analyzing intrusion detection systems, and assessing security configurations to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches. The analyst will also conduct vulnerability assessments and audits to ensure compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the development of IT security policies and standards.
- Analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues.
- Recognize and analyze potential intrusion attempts and compromises.
- Evaluate configuration changes impacting the security posture of the Enterprise.
- Identify, alert, and report events regarding intrusions and compromises.
- Assess and assist with the implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls.
- Ensure the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by enforcing security policies.
- Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- 4-7 years of related experience in information security.
- Experience with threat hunting and incident response methodology.
- Familiarity with network/server/application scanning tools, such as Tenable Nessus.
- PowerShell scripting experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows event logging and SIEM operations.
- Knowledge of Email Security and Web Security Appliances.
- Understanding of Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Base 64 encoding/decoding.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with emerging security governance policies such as CJCS manual and SECNAVINST.
