About the position

The Information Security Analyst 4 position is a contract role focused on designing and consulting on cybersecurity metrics. This position is hybrid, requiring three days on-site and two days remote work, and is located in San Francisco, CA, with potential opportunities in other cities such as Charlotte, NC, Irving, TX, Chandler, AZ, and New York, NY. The contract duration is 12 months, with the possibility of conversion to a full-time role. The primary responsibility of the analyst will be to provide subject matter expert guidance across the metrics lifecycle, assisting cybersecurity domain metrics owners and stakeholders in identifying key risk and performance indicators. The role emphasizes building strong relationships with stakeholders and acting as the main point of contact for metrics-related inquiries. The analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the metrics developed are of high quality and meet the necessary standards. This includes performing verification and validation on cybersecurity metrics, ensuring that the metrics descriptions, calculations, and data are accurate, and verifying that data collection controls are in place to maintain data integrity. The analyst will also facilitate the approval of cybersecurity metrics and implement changes through the organization's governance and review process. Additionally, the role involves working closely with cybersecurity metrics owners to analyze and understand the results of the metrics, ensuring that they provide valuable insights into the cybersecurity landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Design and consult on cybersecurity metrics.
  • Provide metrics subject matter expert guidance across the metrics lifecycle.
  • Identify key risk and performance indicators among cybersecurity metrics and work with cybersecurity domain to implement.
  • Build relationships with cybersecurity domain stakeholders and act as a main point of contact for metrics.
  • Perform verification and validation on cybersecurity metrics.
  • Ensure the metrics are the right metrics and meet quality standards.
  • Ensure the metrics descriptions, calculations, and data are accurate.
  • Verify that metrics data collection controls are in place and the data source maintains its integrity.
  • Facilitate cybersecurity metrics approvals and implement changes using the organization's governance and review process.
  • Work with cybersecurity metrics owners to analyze and understand metrics results.

Requirements

  • 5+ years working with metrics, including designing metrics and reviewing metrics for quality.
  • 2+ years working in roles with most of the work related to information security.
  • 3+ years experience working mostly independently to build and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders at various levels (e.g., management, analyst, cross-functional partner).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adjust messaging for various audiences, including executive communication.
  • Attention to detail in written communications and deliverables.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving and changing environment.
  • Capability to learn new information quickly - especially related to cybersecurity and metrics.
